Memeries

Well, only one meme, actually. Eileen tagged me, so here it is:

10 things I like, in no particular order:

Reading
Cooking/baking (does that count as two?)
Swimming in a nice clean lake
My cat
My husband
Knitting
The wonderful smell of a forest on the Canadian shield in the fall
Watching baseball (the Bluejays, for choice)
Hanging out with old friends
Meeting new friends

Pretty predictable, eh?

5 things I may or may not have done and would like to learn or try again:

Knit continental
Horseback riding — I rode from age 7 to age 20, but haven’t done it since, so it would certainly involve some re-learning
Learn German and Italian — I’ve tried the German, but I’m very slow, and I never actually learned Italian formally, though I can struggle through it in writing
Pottery — I love the feel of clay, and I’m fascinated by the wheel
Piano — again, I played as a child, but haven’t in years

And now you know.

I’m glad you all liked the Banff photos — I have more, but I’ll spare you. And thank you, Aara, you’re too kind — but I should mention, for those of you who know Aara, she was wearing some pretty amazing pieces of knitting herself — her Birch, and her Audrey… lovely.

Good thing you said “in no particular order” because I notice your cat was mentioned before your husband!

I didn’t think you’d get much knitting done at a conference. I always think I’m going to knit at night during mine (Tax seminars) but never seem to. If the knitting is particularly easy, I knit during the speakers, but I don’t think I’d want to do it in a room of 20 unless I could ask questions or make comments to prove I’m listening. Actually, I usually pay more attention when I have something mindless to do with my hands, otherwise I tend to list chores I should be doing or something but I can undertand the speakers not getting the distinction.

Banff is beautiful! Nice pictures. I haven’t been up there in years. At least you got to sightsee a bit.

How was your conference paper received? Mark have fun in Kalamazoo?

hey, it looks like we have a lot of similar interests. And guess what, I’m going to adult horseback riding camp!
Dearest daughter has already picked out what horses would be suitable for me to ride:)
I’m sure you would pick it up again fast - like riding a bike(only higher up!), non?:)
