We made it!

The epic journey has been successfully completed, and we’re here in Sackville, New Brunswick. 1700 km in 2 days, with our poor Tigger miserable the whole way. Dosing him with Gravol helped, though – he was much calmer than he normally is on car trips. Or it might have been pure exhaustion – Friday we were driving 12 hours straight, with only a couple of 15-20 min breaks for McDonald’s along the way. Saturday’s trip from Riviere-du-Loup to Sackville, 7 hours, seemed like nothing at all in comparison.

Right now I’m composing this entry on Mark’s laptop, while sitting on a camping mattress in our empty house. Our stuff won’t arrive until tomorrow at the earliest, so we don’t even have a chair to sit on. Of course, by the time I post this entry it will already be outdated, since we don’t have a phone line yet and so I can’t get online until tomorrow (Monday).

I’ll post some pictures of the new house (which is charming and lovely) soon. For now I just wanted to let everyone know that we’d arrived safe and sound, and we’re settling in as fast as we can!

Congratulations! That’s quite a drive! I hope that Sackville is great and you enjoy living there … and that there’s a nearby good yarn store … :)

I can’t wait to see pictures of the new place!

Poor tigger! But give him a few days and he’ll be fine … moving is so stressful! Did he stagger around like a drunk old man when you finally reached your destination?

Hey, sweetie!

Glad you’re safely there; the cat will calm down and all will be well.

All the best settling in. I wish easy drawer space in the kitchen decisions.

(Those are the ones we’re struggling with.)

(That and where do all the books go.)
