Sad news

Hi everyone,

I’ve just received news that my grandmother, my father’s mother, died last night in her sleep. She was 82, but she’s always been very healthy and active, and it was completely unexpected. She was much beloved and will be very greatly missed. I know a few of my friends who read this have met her, and if you wanted to you could email me and I’ll let you know when the memorial service will be; sometime next week, I think. I don’t know how often I’ll be posting here in the next little while; we’ll probably be heading back to Ottawa soon, though we do have exams to deal with here.

Goodbye, Nanny. I love you.

Oh Aven, that is so sad. I will be thinking about you here in TO. I know it doesn’t make it easier, but at least she lived a full and happy life right until the end

Aven, my thoughts are with you. My Poppi also died yesterday (Dec 7), he is the first grandparent I’ve lost. Whilst it was expected, it still feels like there’s now a hole. I don’t know about you, but knitting has helped a bit. And chocolate…..

Oh, my condolences. It’s hard losing a grandparent, harder even when they go unexpectedly. So little time to prepare yourself emotionally.

I’ll be thinking of you and your family.

Aven, I am sorry about your Grandma. Yesterday at knitting group, one of the ladies brought the program from her m-i-ls memorial service. She died last week - in her knitting chair - of a heart attack at the age of 80. She was from Yarmouth NS and loved to knit, drink white wine and eat chocolate. So my friend bought enought wine and chocolate for the group and we had a second ‘memeorial’ of sorts. May your memories be just as fond.
