Hervor, finally!

I actually finished this a while ago — on January 14, or so, I think. But I hadn’t managed to take pictures until now, and I still haven’t taken any pictures with me in the sweater — it’s not a good day for self-portraits, so you’ll have to wait. To make up for the wait, though, I’m posting multiple redundant shots — aren’t you lucky!

Here it is, laid out in the lovely (but about to melt, AGAIN!) snow:

And again:

And closer up, showing the yarn and stitches in much better detail:

When I finished taking these pictures, and picked up Hervor, I realised I was left with a perfect “snow-sweater”:

Now that would confuse even the best trackers, I think!

I’m very fond of this sweater, even though it fits me completely differently than the designer intended — I made a much smaller size than I perhaps should have (through a combination of mismeasurement, gauge, and general sloppiness), so it fits rather closely, and is quite short. But I think that’s not a bad thing, because I don’t really want more over-sized sweaters. You can judge for yourselves if and when I put up a modelled shot.

One other thing: my mother, Susan McMaster, who, among her many other talents and accomplishments, is a published poet, has just put up a website on which can be found many of her poems, as well as audio files of her reciting them, many with the accompaniment of various musicians. If that sort of thing interests you, check it out here. I think her poetry is moving and wonderful, but of course I’m a little biased, so you look at it yourself!

Would a really good tracker know the fiber used to make it from the print?
