I'm going to miss this...

While I’ll be happy for many reasons to return to Toronto (that’s the plan for next year, as of this moment — but it’s always possible plans may change! I hope not, however, since I’m really, really tired of uncertainty) I will definitely miss the lovely nature that surrounds us here. I know I’ve already inflicted many pictures of vegetation on you, but I can’t help myself. These are the sights that greeted me when I returned from Toronto (itself very verdant and prettily blooming right now) last weekend:

More apple trees in bloom.

Crabapple blossoms.

Fragrant, beautiful lilacs.

Carpets of forget-me-nots.

Terrifyingly exuberant rhubarb.

And if that doesn’t impress you, this is the expanse of rhubarb we’re dealing with:

Anyone know any good recipes? Savoury OR sweet, I feel I should be living off the stuff!

Those crabapple blossoms are beautiful!

I’m no help on your rhubarb but I do have a great recipe that used scads of zucchini.

For more rhubarb recipes than you’ll use in ten lifetimes, check out www.rhubarbinfo.com. I have eight plants, but all I seem to do it make pies.

Yeah..you’re moving back to Toronto :) that’s what I was hoping you’d do. All the flowers are gorgeous and you’ve been waiting all winter for them..but I seem to remember a very cute picture of you Aven after one too many margaritas..pink-faced and wearing bunny rabbit ears with a really cute smile..and that’s how I think of you in Toronto ;) You’ll also have more of a choice of medical facilities to choose from - so no more garbage about not telling you the sex of your little cabbage patch kid :)

Hi. Just wanted to let you know that this site http://whimsicalwool.blog-city.com from St. Louis Knit Ring has a recipe she posted for Rhubarb Pie on Monday May 29 - Rhubarb Cream Pie - It sounds yummy but I’ve not tried it.

I think you can can the rubharb and then use it as wanted throughout the year. I’d be willing to trade yarn for some of that rubharb.

mmmmmmmm…rubharb pie…

Hey, I have a great recipe for Rhubarb Crisp. Send me an email to remind me and I’ll send it to you.

It’s delicious with some vanilla ice cream!

(and if you want to get rid of any of that rhubarb, I’m heading through your neck of the woods tomorrow. Just sayin’)
