Ongoing preoccupations

Time for another of my infrequent updates. The baby knitting continues, with a sweater, hat, and booties made from the Mission Falls 1824 Cotton that my friends sent me in the spring:

Also, another stuffed toy from a Debbie Bliss pattern. This one wasn’t so difficult to put together, but it helped that I’d made one of her toys before (so the struggles with Nellie were useful, in the end!). I haven’t finished putting on the facial features yet:

Can you tell that it’s supposed to be a rabbit?

Does this help?

If you look at the background of all of those pictures, you’ll see the other thing I’ve been working on lately — boxes. We’re well into packing mode now, and the house is being deconstructed around us. As usual, the big problem is finding places to put the packed boxes… there’s not alot of floor space around here these days!

I am going to be following your lead on the boxes soon! And I am having the same problem with the lack of floor space!

Your baby is going to be the best dressed in the universe.

Yes, you could tell it was a rabbit! But I kind of miss the sideshow of sheep peekaboo.

Such. Cute. Baby. Things! Dang.

Boxes and boxes. Your new house looks so cool though.

Aw, the sweater turned out great. I had a good feeling about those colours when I bought them — gender neutral, but cute without being too bright. They look lovely in stripes! And the rabit is adorable. Does it have a name yet?

Nice work on the new baby things! As a special “toy” for a new baby, I made a bunny out of Noro Silk Garden. Wow- I wish I had kept a picture of it. Give it a try!

How did you find the Mission Falls Cotton to knit? I found the old stuff hard on my hands - I have about 18 abandoned balls sitting in my stash. I heard that the old cotton was discontinued and then a new one put into distribution. My LYS isn’t keeping any yet, but she said she could order it so I’m curious. I love the colours in your sweater.
