Checking in

Hi! Just a quick note to say that the due date (yesterday) has come and gone, and we’re still waiting… not a surprise, but I thought I should keep everyone updated. And don’t worry — while the blog will not be the #1 priority when everything starts happening, it won’t be far down the list — so you shouldn’t have to wait too long for news.

Right. Back to your regularly-scheduled blog browsing — nothing to see here!

Hang in there, sweetie. I know it’s no great comfort to say first babies are often happy to “cook” for a bit longer than the due date, but it often only ends up being a matter of days rather than weeks…you and Mark should go to a movie and dinner while you still have a chance! That might get things going :)

Hope it doesn’t go too long for you. That being said, it would be nice to see you tonight at LK (there will even be a doula there just in case!)

What! No updates during labour… :-) I will not point to the hard-core bloggers who have blogged through their labour ‘cus it seemed a wee bit over the top if you ask me. I imagine you will be busy to say the least. All the best, lots of joy and happiness on the pending birth.

I hope you are still feeling well sweetie. Glad to hear you check in. I agree with going to see a movie while you can…

I can’t wait to meet him!

Hey :) So happy you checked in. Maybe when your mucous plug breaks you could jump on your blog and say “it’s started” then we can be all be behind you 100 percent :)

I wanted to share something from a first time mother though Aven and Mark just so you don’t get worried if your labour doesn’t start too soon around your due date (which I thought was the 25th) :)

When I was pregnant I needed to go to meet with the doctors for whom I had been doing dicta-typing at their medical center. I was dreading going when I was so far along in the pregnancy, feeling embarrassed. However, the office manager was just as pregnant as I was. I was due September 28th and Laurie was due September 29th. The due date came and went and I was getting increasingly frustrated when labour wasn’t starting.

Finally, I had my son and was sitting in on one of the classes they had at the hospital, when someone tapped my shoulder. It was Laurie. I had Kenn on October 9th and she had Danielle on October 10th. We were both first time mothers. We were both about a week and a half overdue.

Keep this in mind you two so you won’t get frustrated okay?

I hope you have a wonderful delivery and that everything goes really well. Can’t wait to see pictures of the little cute, handsome guy :)

Thanks for checking in. I’m afraid I have a tendency to hold my breath over such things, even though i don’t know you personally. ;-)

I vote that you nominate a computer savvy friend to update the blog with vital stats as soon as they’re notified. That way you don’t have to worry about it. ;-)

Congrats!! Hopefully the baby will come soon. I’m so happy for you. I have been reading for a few months but never posted.

Hi Aven,
I happened to find your knitting blog while browsing through some websites about knitting. From reading your blog, I gathered that you enjoy knitting very much. I need some help to knit a pullover for my boyfriend this Christmas. I’m new and would like to know if you could give me some advice on how to. I will really appreciate it. Thanks…Sun, Malaysia

The baby’s bound to come sooner or later. Just remember this one Friday night in the teen years…..
