Baby steps

No, not my baby — me, towards knitting again. I haven’t picked up my needles yet, but I have returned to something I was working on before the baby was born:

Can you tell what it is? (Lettuce Knitters may have seen me making it, so you’re disqualified!). One thing it is, unfortunately, is knit flat — meaning this:

So I’m easing myself back in by weaving in the ends… which, given the time I have, should take a while. Then I have to seam it… but I should have an FO fairly soon, and then I can move on to finish the other baby knit I was working on before the birth.

But in the meantime, you can enjoy the debut of the Chicken Viking Hat:

(I promise, he’s not angry about the hat — just about the carseat!)

Wow, that one is going to come back to haunt him for sure. I am picturing “frist girlfriend” moments….

I laughed for a good five minutes. That picture is easily worth a 1000 words! Priceless. We haven’t gotten any embarrassing pics of Anna yet, but she’s only 8 days old…we’ll get there.

Love the chicken hat picture! That really made me grin!

Aw Mommy! He looks to tiny in the car seat. He has himself so upset he even lost a mitten. The hat is priceless.

Don’t kid yourselves, he is horribly upset by that hat! No! No! (Or maybe it’s me? lol)

I have no idea what that is but it’s a shame it wasn’t knit in the round! Those ends! Yikes. A sweater? A pillow?

Awwwwwwwwwww he looks so cute in that hat :) As soon as I saw it I started laughing.

I don’t know if you ever heard this radio broadcast about Chicken Man..the intro went “Chicken Mannnnnnnnnnn he’s everywhere, he’s everywhere” This pic put me in mind of that and now..err..I can’t stop saying it :)

I’m happy you’re getting back into your knitting Aven. I just don’t know if weaving in ends would be the right way to go as far as enthusiasm. However, I love the colours in the project..can’t wait to see what it is.

Baby with chicken on head and 3 hands! Oh, wait, that’s just a mitt.
Take it easy, and enjoy your wee one!

Love the hat. Where is the pattern? Or is it an Aven original? I would like to make for a Christmas present for someone special.
